How to Interpret Shamanic Visions

How to understand shamanic visions

Today I want to talk to you about how you should interpret the messages in your shamanic visions and your shamanic dreaming.

Of course, I cannot go deep inside every symbolism for any animal and color and landscape since they are infinite. But what I want to give you are some guidelines on how to interpret the messages and the images that you see while you journey for yourself.

First - Don’t analyze yet

The first thing is that, like in Fight Club, you don't analyze them while you're journeying, right? You don't analyze the messages and the stuff you're seeing inside the dream while you're dreaming it, while you're in the rattling or drumming for yourself or in a session, because you don't want to engage your logical mind and your mental capacity while receiving.

Which means that if you're receiving visions and messages, if you start to question them ”Is it true or is it not? What does it mean?” You start engaging your logical mind which takes you out of being in another state of consciousness. It's taking you back from the unseen world to the ordinary reality because you keep using the same faculties that you use for ordinary reality to decipher and understand things. So try as much as possible, which also comes with training and practice.

Do not try to analyze while it's happening, you're just going to ruin the experience for yourself. And you're going to get your judgmental mind inside, your divisive thinking and your ego. So put them aside, it will come with practice, but try to control it whenever you have the urge to analyze. Don't. Write it all down and then analyze while you're back into this reality.

Second - It’s optional

What you see usually is symbolic and optional. You might be given instructions or messages to do something, go someplace, start a new thing or confront with something. It doesn't mean that it's a prophecy. It doesn't mean that it's a prediction. It means that you're shown the most optimal option for you to choose. If you're asking “what is the best way for me to find a new career path?” and you're showing a path, it doesn't mean that that's the only path. It's just the most optimal for you in this life situation currently now where you're at.

If you're showing some prediction that might happen in three years, it doesn't mean that it will happen in three years because if you're actually going to do it, it might take shorter time because you will achieve the milestones towards it faster.

Third - Ask for clarity

Third thing is what if you really don't understand? If you don't understand the message, if you don't understand the symbolism, ask for more clearance, ask for more examples, ask for elaboration. Don't analyze it, but you just want to understand what you are seeing. It needs to hit your awareness first.

Last - Context before content

And the last thing I want to say is it's all contextual. And what I mean by that is that you might read on websites that seeing a wolf has a significant meaning if it's a wolf archetype. But I would advise you to first look on your own personal context.

Do you like wolfs? What does the wolf inspire in you? What is the connotation and the intuition that you get about a wolf from your own world and your own universe, before you start digging on those websites and trying to interpret what this animal was meaning.

As far as I'm concerned, I always look at the context of my life situation and then if I can't see anything else, I will go back to the websites and try to find a meaning for the animal. So let's say, if I'm in a very busy time of my life in my career and I see a bee working relentlessly, then this bee clearly is a busy bee, it's always working for the queen. It may be signifying that I need to start relaxing and maybe working for myself and not for somebody else.

But if I'm in a different time of my life, different answer, different question, and I still see a bee and the bee is making honey, it's a totally different meaning of the same animal. If I can make honey from the nectar of life and I can extract the goodness and the juices and the passion out of experiences, then this beast doesn't signify that working is a bad thing for me. It's signifying that, I need to work to extract it, but I can enjoy the process. It is the same spirit animal, but totally different life situations and context for different questions.

So everything that you see, you write down and you think about the context. And only if you can't find anything else, if you don't understand anything else, of course you can ask me or just Google “(name of animal) spirit animal” to find more meaning. Sometimes you won't find the exact animal if you type, let's say, Cobra spirit animal. You might find the same meaning in writing Snake spirit animal. You might not find a specific type of bird or a specific type of mammal, but you find the larger category. And sometimes you won't find those as well. You'll find them in websites that describe dream meaning, because sometimes they can be similar. Always take it with a grain of salt, with suspicion, with skepticism, because these things are very general. It's like reading a horoscope.

And only if you find something that's very, very specific to the question that you asked, to the journey that you had, and you feel it makes sense, yeah, take it. But don't take everything. Don't take everything as a package, because these websites usually contradict themselves in the content.

To summarize everything. What you see might not be a prediction, like might not be an instruction. It's an option. It's an optimal option for you to choose from other options. You can choose not to engage, you can choose to engage later, you can choose to work with it in your own life differently, but it's not set in stone. It's an option from where you stand right here, right now in your life. Go from contextual and personal to the universal. If you don't understand anything that you're seeing, first ask yourself the questions, how is it related to you? And only then, if you don't find any answer and nobody can help you, go and search online.
